Portfolio

This collection brings together some of my most treasured works, created during seasons of fearless curiosity and compassionate self-discovery. Arranged chronologically, the pieces trace the evolution of different creative practices and philosophies that have shaped my work over time. Together, they reflect an ongoing conversation with the stories and archetypes of my past, present, and future—a journey of healing, growth, and the beauty found in becoming.

"Subconscious Doodle 7/24/2018"

12"x18" Watercolor & Ink Poster, 2018

I have always found it difficult to translate my thoughts and feelings into words, so for a period of time I turned to painting as a daily practice. This allowed me to decompress, slow down, and release without the pressure of making sense. Within this series, familiar faces, animals, and creatures would often emerge; I would later research their symbolism and meditate on the areas of the body they seemed to correspond to. In this process, they revealed truths I felt throughout the day—truths that words alone could not fully hold.

"Subconscious Doodle 2/5/2019"

12"x18" Watercolor & Ink Poster, 2019

Surrealism and Jungian shadow theory have long been foundational to my understanding of the mind. Through symbolism, dream interpretation, meditative states, and free association, I have found a deeper connection to the many facets of myself than through any other philosophy or practice. These subconscious doodles became a daily ritual of self-reflection and creative exploration, nurturing a visual language that would later find its way onto the surfaces of my pottery.

Unbearable Compassion .png

"Unbearable Compassion"

12"x18" Watercolor & Ink Poster, 2022

Using "Be Here Now" by Ram Dass as a guide, I explored the power of chaos and fate by opening to random pages and allowing the words to shape a meditative creative practice. Using the circle as a container is a frequent practice in my illustrations as well as my masks.  In this series I married my research of flowers and plants as teachers of wisdom and using small, repetitive details to help my mind settle into and interpret the meaning of the messages that came to me.

State of fufillment .png

"State of Fufillment"

12"x18" Watercolor & Ink Poster, 2022

In this piece from my Be Here Now series, I use the transformation of the caterpillar into the butterfly to reflect the slow unfolding of time and the journey toward fulfillment. The morning glory, with its quiet messages of love and resilience, serves as a reminder of endurance, renewal, and the beauty of becoming.

Prioritze Peace .png

"Prioritize Peace"

12"x18" Watercolor & Ink Poster, 2022

In this piece from my Be Here Now series, I draw on the archetype of Mother Mary—one I have long felt connected to, even as a recovering Catholic—to express the unconditional love I have had to cultivate within myself while learning to prioritize my own peace. The lotus symbolizes the awakening of universal potential, reflecting the inner unfolding I have come to recognize and nurture within myself.

"The Sun"

11"x11"Soda-Fired Porcelain, 2018.

This is the third mask in my Tarot series, fired in the soda kiln at Arnie Zimmerman’s studio. The Sun represents hope, joy, and childlike wonder. I began creating these masks as a way to deepen my exploration of Tarot and self-reflection, giving form to the archetypes I encountered within myself through the cards. These works also became a way to honor and meet the deeper character held within each archetype.

"The Hanged Man"

11"x11" Wood-Fired Stoneware, 2018

This was the first piece of artwork I wood-fired, marking my introduction to the collaborative process between clay and flame. The Hanged Man represents seasons of discomfort that invite growth, as well as deep meditation and self-reflection—an archetype that continued to surface as I began exploring the atmospheric world of ceramics.

"The Moon"

11"x11" Soda-Fired Porcelain, 2019

The Moon card has always evoked for me the mystery of the feminine—something once tamed, diminished, and exploited, yet still deeply powerful. She carries the comfort of constant change and a connection to the waters of the subconscious. During this chapter of my life, I was devoted to creating safe spaces for women to gather, and I found a circle committed to showing up for themselves and one another in the shared exploration of truth.

"Death"

11"x11" Wood-Fired Porcelain, 2019

While the Death card can evoke fear of endings, it is ultimately a symbol of rebirth. This mask honors the tender process of releasing what no longer serves us and trusting that, like compost enriching the soil, each ending creates fertile ground for new growth.

"The Star"

11"x11" Soda-Fired Stoneware, 2020

The Star card in the Tarot represents faith in its most expansive form—the willingness to leap without certainty and trust that what is meant to support you will arrive. As someone who tends to prepare for every possible outcome, I have found this lesson challenging yet transformative. This mask now hangs above my kitchen sink as a daily reminder that I have taken leaps before, and when aligned with my highest good, support has always found its way to me.

"The World"

11"x11" Soda-Fired Porcelain, 2020

The World, the final card of the Major Arcana, symbolizes completion, wholeness, and the fulfillment of a chapter. This mask was created in the aftermath of leaving a toxic job and stepping into a new chapter of healing with the support of a therapist.

"The Holy Trinity"

Ranging from 12" × 5" to 5" × 2", Electric-Fired Earthenware with Glaze and Mason Stains, 2016

The Holy Trinity marks the beginning of my figurative style and my exploration of archetypes. Created shortly after graduating college, this matryoshka doll set honors the artists, educators, and spiritual mentors who profoundly shaped my creativity, resilience, and sense of self. Each figure represents a different guide whose wisdom and generosity helped form the artist—and person—I am today. This work stands as a tribute to their lasting influence and kindness.

"Elemental Cups"

3"x7" Set of 4 Wood-Fired Stoneware Cups, 2020

This set of cups represents one of the first collaborations between my husband and me. He hand-formed the vessels, while I sculpted the characters inspired by archetypes and imagery explored during an intensive astrology workshop completed during quarantine.

"Hawk Girl"

10"x3" Stoneware and Glaze Electric-Fired Jar, 2021

"Hawkgirl"emerged during a meditation exploring the hero my inner child most needed. She appears as a young tomboy in cut-off jeans and a cape of hawk feathers—fearless, playful, and free.

"Robot Sippers"

4" × 2" Soda-Fired Stoneware Cups, 2022

As a latchkey child, the worlds of make-believe and toys were steadfast companions. Through play, character creation, and the crafting of elaborate imaginary worlds, I first discovered what it meant to be an artist. That spirit of play and childlike wonder continues to guide my practice and can be found throughout much of my functional ware.

"Assorted Cups"

Approximately 5" × 3" Soda-Fired Porcelain Cups, 2022

Finding ways to unite form and color to evoke emotion and character continues to fuel my curiosity. This series of cups was inspired by the sensuality and bold experimentation of the fashion world. Exploring curves, folds, and seams through clay offered a fresh perspective on my practice and opened new possibilities for expression within functional ware.

"The Devil In My Home"

7"x14" Soda-Fired Porcelain Wall Hanging, 2022

This mask is inspired by The Devil card in the Tarot and an EMDR session exploring the fear of being “wrong” or “bad.” During these sessions, I encountered the corners and walls of my childhood home, windows and doors that held and witnessed my upbringing.

IMG_4123.jpeg

"These Walls"

7"x14" Wood-Fired Porcelain Wall Hanging, 2022

This piece is a sister work to "The Devil In My Home". I moved frequently throughout my childhood, but the two places I lived longest were my Nana’s house in Boston and my parents’ home prior to their divorce. These spaces are always the "homes" that show up in my dreams.

Our house, one of the oldest in our small hamlet, was pieced together with stones from the creek and reclaimed wood. I once romanticized it as the last space where I experienced my family as whole; Now, it exists in my memory as a more layered place—one that holds many stories at once, shifting and revealing itself differently each time I revisit it in my minds eye.

The void between the chakras.jpeg

"The Void"

12"x5" Soda-Fired Porcealin Wall Hanging, 2022

After reading "The Body Keeps the Score" by Bessel van der Kolk, I became curious about how trauma lives in my body. Through chakra-based meditation and body scans, I began to notice a distinct void between my heart and root—centered in the solar plexus, the place of personal power and self-honoring that often felt inaccessible. Through creation and facilitating womens circle I have learned that the absence I feel in my solar plexus and the safety I experience in the circle’s void—both reveal different facets of surrender, power, and return.

"Shadow Dance "

14" × 9" Soda-Fired Stoneware Wall Hanging, 2023

A further exploration of The Devil card, this wall sculpture reflects the weight of self-imposed restrictions and the chains we place upon ourselves. As a recovering Catholic, redefining and deepening my understanding of the Devil has been a powerful part of my spiritual journey. By moving beyond fear, sin, and external judgment, I have found greater liberation, self-trust, and a more authentic relationship with spirituality.
